Empire total war mods download
While this is the best-looking Total War game to date, the community has continued to find ways to make the game look ever better. With small adjustments here and there, stronger graphics can greatly improve historical accuracy and unit designs too. Make Them Unique is the first of these graphics mods, giving some of the lower-tier generals unique appearances. It was disappointing to some fans that the unique characters were only given generic portraits and models.
This mod gives them unique items and appearances to totally fix that. Another little detail that you may have missed — generals are each given unique portraits based on historical precedent. The Generals Face Overhaul fixes that, retexturing faces of some of the generals to make them better resemble their portraits. It might seem like a negligible change.
From the same creator as the generals mod, deema gives us more facial upgrades with Better Faces Plus. It changes some of the weapon models to make them more accurate, as well as adds variety when it comes to units on the battlefield. Some of the weapons covered in the mod include long and short spears, halberds, swords, and even helmet alterations. Like I mentioned earlier, each of these mods might seem like unnecessary minute details on their own.
But combined, they make for big improvements to the visuals. This mod distributes different horse armor types to the different generals in the game, giving some unit variety here and there.
It can get pretty boring looking at the same unit models copy-pasted across the field. What it actually does is adds more than 25 face variations , along with equipment, weapons, and civilian models.
All in one pack! You might be so used to the same models appearing over and over again that you hardly notice it anymore. This mod fixes that by drastically increasing blood spatters on the ground around battling units. While the Total War series has become known for the scale of battles, it can easily get a bit cluttered at times.
While your setup might be powerful enough to run large-scale battles without any visual impact, you might not be able to enjoy it much, as things can get really messy pretty quickly. The mod makes the game much more enjoyable to watch, focusing on visual improvements through an updated map, new lighting effects, camera angles, and even a simplified UI.
Ultimately this is a great way to enjoy the game from a more passive approach, which is definitely what some of us need after a long work week. Most graphics mods make visual improvements solely for the purpose of making things look a bit better. Tiered Unit Cards is a perfect example of that, as the unit options in these games can easily get overwhelming.
With Three Kingdoms changing things up and focusing more on heroes, previous Total War games always featured captains at the head of each unit. They were easily identifiable since they would always have unique headgear, and would always stand ahead of each unit to lead them into battle.
This can make the series quite intimidating to newer players, since the learning curve is pretty steep. In Three Kingdoms, one of the toughest parts of the game is losing one of your characters to old age. Adds the Warriors of Chaos as a playable faction in the Old World campaign, multiplayer and custom battles.
Blood for the Blood God. Adds various blood, gore and dismemberment effects to battles. The Grim and the Grave. The King and the Warlord. Realm of the Wood Elves. Adds the Wood Elves as a playable race in campaign, multiplayer etc. Adds The Season of Revelation campaign. Updates the Norsca faction and Wintertooth subfaction, and makes them a playable race in the campaign, multiplayer and custom battles. Added Blood Knights as a new unit for the Vampire Counts.
Free on steam. Free on Steam. Adds the new hero Grey Wizard to The Empire. Adds the new hero Jade Wizard to The Empire. Added the new legendary lord Morghur and harpies unit to Beastmen. Adds the new Legendary Lord Grombrindal to the Dwarfs. Grombrindal was previously available as part of a special promotion, see article for details.
Bretonnia Update. Updated the Bretonnia faction, made them a free playable race, along with two subfactions: Bordeleaux and Carcassonne.
Migrates Vlad von Carstein to the Von Carstein faction. The Foundation Update. Total War Access. This requires signing up for Total War Access. Adds new skills to many Legendary Lords, and updated campaign mechanics for the Warriors of Chaos. Blood for the Blood God II. Rise of the Tomb Kings. Adds the Tomb Kings as a playable race in campaign and multiplayer, with 4 legendary lords. These units are stronger variations of vanilla units, so it might make the Roman factions a bit OP.
So it introduces over 40 new models and over new textures. Leaves me wondering how long did this took to create! Lord Buio did his research, combining armor from different historical moments of Sparta to come up with realistic armor sets for your units. Other than the reskins, the mod also adds a few new units including basilikons, hoplites, and Spartan swords.
Instead of dumping tons of new units in the game, this mod takes a different approach by only giving a number of elite units to some of the playable factions of the game. But modder Will wanted to go the opposite route and give some attention to some of the less popular factions in the game.
There are over 50 new units for you to combat with, which includes a good mix of ground and naval units. Another way to make things a bit more interesting is through some of the AI improvements the mod community has to offer. Based on his experience of the game, enemy AI were nearsighted, only chasing after opponents that were already right in front of them. They would otherwise ignore enemy units positioned further away, making baiting too easy for more advanced players. Enemy factions are now more likely to declare war against you, especially if they consider you to be unfriendly or hostile.
Keep your wits about you! This mod makes it so experienced units will be much more valuable to you and your army, mostly by giving them buffs that affect the rest of the troops. Veterans now get a significant morale boost, making them all much deadlier in melee combat. They also emit an offensive and defensive aura buff, so fighting alongside these veterans will improve nearby unit stats as well.
Modder Phalangitis goes back to the history books and takes a look at how slavery was such a huge part of the economy during these times. A new edict is introduced, and when issued, slave percentages in the region will drop by half. Ultimately this gives you increased income. Slavery buildings have an increased impact as well, as having one will reduce slave drop, as well as reduce construction costs. Traits, Talents and Toadies: Character Overhaul is quite a long name for a fairly complex addition.
This mod completely changes the traits, talents, and character systems of the game — almost making it feel like a completely new title. Generals now have new skills and icons, and army traditions have been separated giving each faction a unique tree to progress through.
While we covered most of the cosmetic mods mentioned earlier on the list, I just had to save these AAA mods by Benjin and Celticus till higher in the ranking.
With increasing age, facial attributes now reflect that the general is getting older. Ranking up in combat will give your generals access to more extravagant examples of armor as well. Lastly, seasons will affect the way your generals dress, swapping warmer clothes during winter and cooler armor sets for the summer months. This particular pack is for Roman generals only, but there are packs for Greeks , Punics , and other factions as well.
There are a number of factors to consider here, as the population is now divided into four classes: nobles, warriors, commoners, and foreigners.
